  • Karl B. Milliren, DVM

    Karl B. Milliren, DVM

    Dr. Milliren graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in agricultural science and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He married his lovely wife Joy in 1979 and they have two sons Bryant and Matthew. Together they started Thomasville Veterinary Hospital in July 1980. Dr. Milliren has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association since 1978 and is past president of the Central Carolina Veterinary Medical Association. He joined the American Animal Hospital Association in 1989 and Thomasville Veterinary Hospital became a AAHA accredited hospital in 1993. Dr Milliren is a partner in two other practices Emerywood Veterinary Hospital and James Landing Veterinary Hospital where he currently consults on a weekly basis. His hobbies include flying, golfing, and snow skiing.

  • Barbara R. Jacobsen, DVM

    Barbara R. Jacobsen, DVM

    Dr. Barbara Jacobsen graduated from Colorado State University in 1992. She accepted an associate veterinarian position with Thomasville Veterinary Hospital in 1992. Her professional interests include geriatric health care and wellness. Dr. Jacobsen is a member of AVMA, NCVMA, AAHA, and is very active with the childrens ministry at her church. She enjoys life on a farm and keeping up with 2 very active boys.

  • TIna Cecil, DVM

    TIna Cecil, DVM

    Dr. Tina Cecil was born and raised in the Hasty area of Davidson County.  She was active in 4-H and showed Quarter Horses.  She graduated from North Carolina State University with bachelor degrees in Animal Science, Zoology and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  She has practiced in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, and has been with Thomasville Veterinary Hospital since January 2005.  Dr. Cecil is married and she and her husband have 2 beautiful girls.  They share their home with 2 dogs and 2 cats.  Dr. Cecil's hobbies include sewing, crochet, ribbon embroidery and hardanger.  Her family enjoys traveling within the US, movies and reading, and she is an active member of her church family.

  • Cassandra D. Kurtz, DVM

    Cassandra D. Kurtz, DVM

    Dr. Cassie Kurtz is originally from Findlay, Ohio. She attended the University of Findlay, receiving a B.S. in Biology in 2004. Dr. Kurtz earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2008, and joined Thomasville Veterinary Hospital thereafter. Her professional interests include oncology and dermatology. Dr. Kurtz is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. While away from work, she can be found practicing taekwondo, reading, or horseback riding. Dr. Kurtz also enjoys mentoring students through the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership program, a national program dedicated to developing leadership skills in high school sophomores. She and her husband Dan share their home with two Siberian Huskies, Sara and Maverick, and a cat, Sonny.

    Susan Haver, DVM

    Dr. Haver grew up in North Carolina after moving from New Jersey in 1991. Her passion for animals led her to a career in veterinary medicine. She is a graduate of High Point University where she obtained a B.S. in Biology and then went on to attend The Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine to receive her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as vacationing at the NC mountains and coast. Her furry family members include two dogs and three cats.

    Christi Hall, DVM

    Christi Hall is originally from Mt. Airy, NC. She is a Ross University graduate with clinical studies done at Virgina Tech. She began working as a veterinarian in St. Clairsville, OH before moving back to North Carolina. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, ER medicine, and Ultrasound. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the movies, playing with her three dogs and cat, as well as all other outdoor activities.

  • Feli Noeller, DVM

    Feli Noeller, DVM

    Dr. Noeller graduated from NCSU Veterinary School in 2005 and has worked as a small animal veterinarian since that time.  This is a second career for her; with a masters degree in social work, she worked as a child and family therapist for 20 years before attending veterinary school.  She enjoys working in emergency veterinary medicine.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her own animal menagerie.

  • Joy Milliren, VMT

    Joy Milliren, VMT

    Joy Milliren graduated from Central Carolina Community College with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Medical Technology in 1976.  She has been in veterinary medicine since that time.  Joy has been a member of Thomasville Veterinary Hospital since its founding in 1980 and for the past ten years she has worked as hospital manager with Dr. Milliren. She has been an AAHA associate member since 1998 and has attended AAHA Practice Management Leadership Forums since 1990 where she has gained valuable knowledge and experience in hospital and staff management. Prior to joining TVH, Joy worked as technician for two different hospitals in Greensboro.  She has a passion for people and their pets and strives to make a difference in their lives through the care she provides.  Joy is a proud mother of two young men and wife of Dr. Karl B. Milliren. She is a Christian that enjoys serving the Lord at her church as Sunday School teacher and singer. Joy also enjoys skiing, gardening and flying and earned her pilots license in 2005.

    Rene H. Smith

    Smith is originally from Charlotte N.C. and moved to the Davidson County area in 1982 and attended D.C.C.C. for two years Rene came to work at Thomasville Veterinary Hospital in 1985 In 1988 she became the manager at the Thomasville Pet Center, which is T.V.H. boarding and grooming facility In 1999 she returned to T.V.H. as technical/kennel manager Rene has been an AAHA associate member since 1999 Rene also enjoys going to the beach and four wheeling.

  • Amanda W. Beal

    Amanda W. Beal

    Amanda Beal has been on our staff since 1988.  Prior to this she worked as secretary to a purchasing company in High Point.  She was promoted to reception manager in 1992 and has been secretary to Dr. Milliren since 1990.  Amanda has attended several management seminars where she has gained valuable experience and knowledge in staff management. She has been an AAHA associate member since 1998.  Amanda is a Christian and active member of her church.  She has a passion for scrapbooking as a pastime that will last a lifetime.

    Misty H. Burton

    Misty Burton is married to a wonderful man and is a mother of two beautiful children. Shortly after high school graduation she moved to North Carolina from Greenbrier, Arkansas.  She began her career at Thomasville Veterinary Hospital as receptionist in 1996 and in 1998 was invited to become part of our management team.  She enjoys fishing, boating, bowling, gardening, spending time with her family, and most of all she enjoys her relationship with the Lord.

    Autumn Daniels, RVT

    Autumn Daniels has been employed with Thomasville Veterinary Hospital since August 2000.  She has worked in the veterinary field since 1998.  Autumn graduated from Trinity High School in 1997.  She received an Associate Degree in Applied Science for Veterinary Medical Technology from Central Carolina Community College in 2003.  Autumn became a Registered Veterinary Technician in May 2005.  She is the proud pet owner of one dog and two cats.  Her hobbies include playing with her dog, collecting Bassett hound and dolphin stuff and vacationing at the beach.

    Tasha Gibbons

    Tasha Gibbons is a graduate from Southwest Randolph High School. She then came to join our staff at Thomasville Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary assistant in 2002.  During this time she has become proficient in all areas of the hospital.  She is now training with our technical staff to become a veterinary technician.  Tasha's hobbies include playing with her pets, reading, swimming and painting.

    Dana Kanoy

    Dana Kanoy has been a part of Thomasville Veterinary Hospital since 2000. She graduated from Trininity High School and later attended school to become a certified drivers education teacher. She taught at Eastern Guilford High School for three years.  Dana has been a part of Thomasville Veterinary Hospital since 2000.  Since joining T.V.H. she has become proficient in the care and treatment of our patients.  Her hobbies include playing with her pets, Maddie, MJ. and Alexis. She also loves to eat.

    Christina Dennis

    Christina graduated from Ledford High School in 1998 and attended Davidson County Community College where she received a certificate in Animal Care. She joined Thomasville Veterinary Hospital in 2005 as a veterinary assistant. She has 2 Boxers, Princess and Ares, one cat named Simon, and a Beta fish named Lucifer. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her dogs, spending time with her family, and watching football. She also enjoys fishing and anything outdoors.

  • Heather Jennette

    Heather Jennette

    Heather Jennette is originally from upstate New York, not far from Syracuse and all of the snow. She attended Morrisville State College and received an associate’s degree in applied sciences. Heather has over 10 years of experience as a veterinary technician/assistant. She is very compassionate about working with animals and truly loves what she does. Heather moved to North Carolina in 1997, as her family wanted to get away from all the snow and cold weather. She has a menagerie of pets at home including but not limited to 2 guinea pigs, 1 rabbit, 2 ducks, 2 cats, 1 golden, multiple hermit crabs, and two fire belly toads. Heather has 3 children who keep her very busy with Soccer, Football, and Baseball. In her time between work and family, heather likes to go horseback riding, canoeing, mountain biking, fishing, 4 wheeling, and spending time at the beach.

    Brittany Mc Innis

    Brittany was hired in 2008 to join our Veterinary Assistant / Kennel Staff team. She graduated Ledford High School in 2006 and attended Davidson County Community College receiving a assistant teacher certificate. She has a Rat Terrier. Her hobbies include riding 4 - wheelers and dirt bikes along with going hunting with her step dad.

    Brooke Tate

    Brooke began working with Thomasville Veterinary Hospital in August of 2010. She had previously been with us from 2000 to 2003. Brooke has 12 years of veterinary experience. Her professional interest include surgical procedures and dental cleanings. She is married and has 2 sons, Abram & Asher. She is the proud owner of an Australian Shephard named Bixly and a Labrador named Zeb. Brooke is very involved with her church. She and her husband are youth leaders there. Brooke enjoys singing in the choir and serving her Heavenly Father.

    Ashley Leonard

    Ashley Leonard graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She is currently attending Penn Foster Career School where she will graduate with an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. She will then be able to apply to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Ashley has been with Thomasville Veterinary Hospital since January 2011. She is passionate about working with and caring for animals. She and her husband Jeremy have two furry children, their Ragdoll cat, Starburst, and Australian Shepherd, Rose. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, swimming, and attending NC State games with her husband. She is a Christian and is actively involved in her church.

    Denise Johnson

    Denise moved to North Carolina from Florida one year ago to be closer to family. She has three wonderful children and is the proud grandma of twin girls and one grandson. Denise is currently persuing an associates degree in Science and Certification in Veterinary Technology. Denise just recently adopted a new dog which is taking up most of her spare time

    Amy is originally from Clear Springs, Maryland. She moved to North Carolina 12 years ago. Amy is married and is the mother to her son and her furbabies. She is active in animal rescue and foster care. Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. In her spare time she enjoys boating, gardening, cooking, and eaten. Amy has been working with small animals for 13 years and could not imagine doing anything else.

    Amanda Long is happily married and the mother of two wonderful children. She joined our team in June 2011. Amanda graduated from East Davidson High School in 1994 and attended Guilford Technical Community College with a certificate in administration. Amanda enjoys shopping, hiking, listening to music, and most of all; traveling!
